Maison Francis Kurkdjian Baccarat Rouge 540 Eau de parfum 70ml

I’ve never had an experience like when I wear MFK Baccarat rouge 540. There was so much hype. So I bought a bottle. When I first sprayed it on. It was a unique smell. Not strong. Not bad. Defiantly unique. But it faded fast. In an hour I couldn’t smell anything. - cut to the rest of the day almost every single person I interacted with, walked by or even talked to said. “You smell so amazing ! What are you wearing ?!” I was so shocked. I couldn’t smell anything. I spray it on at 430am before work and at 6pm at the gas station someone in line in front of me left and then came back in to ask what I was wearing. As well as the clerk haha. I get wisps of it throughout the day. It sneaks up on me. If I move I can smell it and it’s beautiful. But never in my life had a fragrance last as long as it does( even if you can’t smell it ) and had so many compliments. Seriously. It’s become my signature scent just because it makes me feel so special and get so many positive interactions all day long. Try it out for a week or so. And see. I promise you will love it.

This is one of the samples I purchased from the MFK site to test before buying due to the price. This is a very interesting perfume! There is an airy and crystalline quality to this and never feels heavy which many vanilla based perfumes tend to do. It’s an ethereal vanilla with hints of citrus in the opening and florals that have just bloomed but it’s a cool spring day so they aren’t always apparent. There is a higher pitch to this fragrance than the Extrait version. I would swear there is ambroxen in this that lends to the pitch which I find similar to Le Labo Tonka. The dry down was a bit smoky and reminded me of a much lighter version of Vanille Insensee with LL Tonka. One spritz to the wrist lasted until the next day. Much more prominent with warm vs cool skin. Overall great fragrance and fun to wear. I will complete testing my 10 samples before deciding but this is definitely in the running. BTW— strongly encourage ordering from MFK site if you don’t live close to a a Nordies to sample. Fast shipping 4 days and low cost with gorgeous packaging.

I bought this because of the hype it got on Tik Tok. It truly is the best perfume I have ever smelled in my life. So much so, that I want to buy the huge 6 oz bottle. It smells like sweet cotton candy roasting over a bonfire next to some marshmallows - a very sweet skin scent. I'm shocked that "sweet" isn't listed as the top main accord on fragrantica. There is a lot of comparing this to Ariana Grande's Cloud perfume and I want to address that. The notes that Cloud has that I believe BR540 shares is Vanilla Orchid, Whipped Cream, Musk and a hint of Pear. First BR540 is way, way, WAY stronger; half a spray of this is the equivalent to 15 sprays of Cloud and that is not an over exaggeration. The price tag is hefty but the projection and longevity of BR540 blows Cloud out of the water. I sprayed this twice and had to open the windows to air out the place. If you love this scent enough, getting BR540 is worth it for this reason alone. I'm gonna try to explain the difference between Cloud and BR540 like this: unexplainably, we all know when a perfume smells cheap and when a perfume smells expensive...so yes the smells are very similar but the cloud one has no depth to it, it has this syntheticness to it that reminds me of high school where we wore cheap (not necessarily bad) perfumes. BR540 on the other hand, you just KNOW this is an expensive perfume, its sweeter than cloud; it gives me almost...raspberry or strawberry notes, and it has a skin like scent to it. In other words, I think Cloud and BR540 are sisters; Cloud lives in the suburbs and BR540 is the more attractive one that lives in a luxurious French apartment next to a bakery. Also, I can see why people think that this smells like Sol De Janiero 68’ but Sol De Janiero 68’s smell evaporates the moment you spray it and it is 1% of what BR540 is. Seriously, 1%...The only thing I don't understand is how people are saying this smells like Burberry Her -- BH smells nothing like BR540 but it does have notes of strawberry and raspberry which I definitely picked up on in BR540 so thats the only similarity. In conclusion, Baccarat Rouge 540 is 10/10 and worth it.

This is the most amazing fragrance. I resisted purchasing it for the longest time, because justifying the expense to my hubby for perfumes of this caliber can be challenging. Regardless, it is worth every cent!

This is one of those fragrances that are so subtle, that once you put it on you do not smell it anymore, but I assure you... others will!!!

I work in the legal/justice field... I have been in court during an active hearing and had a defendant risk contempt charges to ask me what I was wearing! That alone speaks volumes!

I am constantly stopped on the street, in stores, elevators, in meetings, EVERYWHERE and told “you smell INCREDIBLE, what are you wearing?!?”

Unfortunately, I butcher this poor artists name, but I can tell them what the product is, and where to get it! I have been buying it ever since!
