Since its creation in 1921, N°5 has exuded the very essence of femininity.

The abstract, mysterious scent—alive with countless subtle facets—radiates

an extravagant floral richness. In 1986, Jacques Polge reinterpreted his

predecessor Ernest Beaux’s composition to create a fuller, more voluminous

version of the now and forever fragrance: the Eau de Parfum.

Composition

With its unprecedented use of aldehydes and layers of complexity, N°5 was the world’s

first abstract fragrance. The Eau de Parfum draws inspiration from the original Parfum.

This floral bouquet, composed around May rose and jasmine, features bright citrus top notes.

Aldehydes create a unique presence, while the smooth touch of bourbon vanilla

yields an incredibly sensual sillage.

    Let me start off by saying I’m 15 years old. I got this as a present, and I love it. When people ask what I’m wearing I tell them Chanel number 5 and they are shocked. This is clean, powdery, and floral. I’ll keep asking for this. If you think this is for old ladies, you’re wrong. Give this a try and you won’t be disappointed

    Timeless classic that My daughter and I wears everyday! Very clean and sweet smell that I will never get tired of! My old time favorite since I was 15 years old. I wear this scent for forty years now. It is part of my daily routine. Ahhhhhhhhh Chanel smells fresh and so invigorating! It's heaven's scent!

    It's a shame but I had to wait until I am 75 years old to buy myself Chanel No.5. However, it's wonderful. My daughter asked me if I was using it and I told her I did not want to waste it on going to the grocery store, or planting the garden, or moping the floor. However, that's about all I do, so.....I'm the best smelling grocery shopper, gardener and mopper. Great aroma even my dog likes it.

    This scent is such a classic scent. It reminds me of my loving mother who is sweet, feminine, smart, elegant, and classy. I love this scent and will be using it for many more years to come.

    This was the perfume my Nana wore, for as long as I can remember. She passed away this year at 97 years old, on my Mom's birthday. This is now my signature fragrance as well, I can still remember seeing a bottle of it on my Nana's dresser - and every time I put it on, it takes me back to being with her.

My last 2 samples are on my “thinking about it list,”due to the cost is double my recent purchases. Right now I am basking in the glorious scent that is Chanel N 5!

    I bought this to mirror my mom's dressing table. She always had a bottle of Chanel perfume there and now that she is gone, I wanted one too. The fragrance just wraps around me and I feel happy when I wear it. Takes me back to sweet days of watching her dress and reaching for the Chanel. I can see her now.

    I tried this perfume in college and hated the scent—at that time it was popular to douse yourself in Victoria’s Secret Love Spell. Now in my mid 30s, I absolutely adore it. I love the clean scent the moment I spray it and even more when it dries down to a gorgeous, subtle, warm bourbon vanilla note. I only wish I’d bought this sooner!

    Chanel No 5 smells amazing and has great lasting power. It smells slightly different on everyone too, which I think is a good thing. Some scents are so recognizable that you don't give them a chance because you associate them with someone else's "signature", but that's not the case with No 5. My mom and best friend also wear No 5, and we're always asked individually what perfume we're wearing. Highly recommend this timeless fragrance!

    Not even sure how to review perfume--you either love it or hate it. I love Chanel No. 5. Some people say it should only be used by older women, but I disagree. It's a classic.

    Chanel N° 5, the scent that was all Marilyn Monroe wore to bed, is also my wife's favorite scent. The Eau de Parfum version of it is more powerful & longer lasting than the Eau de Toilette, & therefore costs a bit more. My wife asked me to bring some back from my recent trip to France, imagining that it would cost less there than in the US. Already familiar with the exorbitant prices of everything at the Roissy-CDG airport & having checked a few brick & mortar stores in Paris off...More

    I love this. It’s floral, powdery, musky, and warm all in one. Absolutely stunning. It smells so classic and elegant, but it can be worn by everyone. I recommend this to everyone who will listen.
